You're (virtually) at
The ECentre, Camden NJ
MIKE'S POST CAMDEN NOTE: These shows were great. The playing was intense and the crowd happy beyond belief. What I'm about to write is not intended in any way whatsoever to detract from Phish and the outstanding job they did. But I gotta bitch about the ECentre. It's even tougher because it's located in my home state. Plus, I swear that I'm a remarkably low-key, easygoing guy. Very little upsets me. But injustice, arrogance, and stereotyping makes me insanely mad, and that's exactly what this place was awash of.

The parking scenario was absolutely horrendous; one of the most poorly run operations I've ever seen. The cops were absolute assholes, as was the parking staff. I, and a lot of others made a special effort to get to the venue right when it (supposedly) opened. The tickets said 3pm, so those of us who had our shit together did exactly that. But the parking staff nevertheless let a bunch of irresponsible idiots in early, filled the main lot to about 40%, and suddenly decared it closed. So they shunted me and the rest of the properly ontime people to a distant muddy, dirt lot surrounded by burned-out projects, broken windows and (quite litterally) roving gangs of inner-city'ers. It was unfair, unjust and WRONG.

What was evern more offensive to me was the staff inside. For the last few shows I've been trying give out cheap, free stuff. Like bubbles, little stickers, and baloons. (You can make a LOT of people happy for less than $10). So I brought these things into the show, and as I was handing them out I was grabbed and nearly kicked out by the security staff. They accused me of trying to pass out laced stickers. And also of lacing the bubbles with LSD so that when they popped on people it'd make them trip. What the fuck that all about???? They said that it's because someone did it before to some employees. Yeah, right. I asked them to point out one these employees to me so I could ask them myself. (They didn't like that very much at all) Bottom line: I tried to make people happy and ended up catching a rash of shit from the asshole Camden employees.

Therefore a big FUCK YOU goes out to that entire stupid fucking venue. Assholes.  mike

Again, the shows were outstanding and more than made up for the shit we had to put up with inside, but I was just so mad at how so many of the employees acted. Shame on all of you.

Anyway, look for me stumbling around the place, or sitting here. You can also check out the tourcam and listen in on the tourphone.

I'm somewhat at a loss for words right now, due to several factors, so for now let it simply be said that this was one of the more enjoyable shows I've been to this summer. Much, much energy & happiness all around.

I gotta say that both of the Camden shows were truly outstanding. Phish really seems to be "on" this tour. They're playing with a huge amount of energy & excitemnt and seem truly happy to be up on stage. Again, the shows were GREAT.
