The Halloween show at the Ocean View Roller Rink in Narragansett was most cool. A good time had by all, I'm sure. There must have been at least 300 people there, seemingly much more than last year.

With the increased crowd came an assortment of pre- and early-teen shitbags who thought it was cool to hang outside and poke fun at everyone. Too cool to dress up, but nevertheless compelled to hang out near those costumed. No matter- the crowd's vibe was incredibly warm & friendly anyway. I think many people realized that kids like that will start the riots at the next Woodstock, while real fans will continue to go to 70,000 person shows with virtually zero problems.

No big deal either way, just an occasional bubbling up of my weariness of the small-minded.

So let's see... I believe the band was playing from a higher platform than last time, though I could be mistaken. Apart from that, everything was as I remembered from last year, but this time with an 80's theme, vs last year's 70's focus. One personal observation, and it's certainly nothing against BAM: it's a LOT easier to butcher an 80's song than it is a 70's one. That's alright guys, it was great!

We were blessed with guest appearances of Cyndi Lauper, Groucho Marx, and some Reggae dude. Plus 4 ENORMOUS mardi-gras heads which floated around the place and generally freaked out many of the wide iris-ed partiers.

Enjoy the pictures; they're arranged in no particular order other than that's how they downloaded to the computer. I have originals of them all, so if you want unretouched, higher resolution versions, email me. You are free to do with these photos as you wish. They're offered as a loving gift to fans of an immensely talented group of musicians, and I trust they'll be further used in the same spirit.
