Phish @ Hershey PA (Sep 15, 2000)
(a mere -3035 days away!)
Never been to Hershey, but I think there's going to be a huge NY/NJ contingent there. That's not a bad thing, but man to they need to chill out sometimes (hey, I was born & raised in NJ- I'm allowed to say that). It's also part of an amusement park, so I hope the cops aren't on "family value alert".

Look for me stumbling around the venue or sitting here. You can also listen in on the tourphone. (Sorry, no TourCam for any fall show except for Mansfield & Columbia. No coverage anywhere else... )

First sun in hours, just before the show started

Idiots in Amish country ran their tourbus off the road. LEAVE THE AMISH ALONE!

At the hotel before the show: About 4:30. About time to head over, but the weather's looking pretty nasty. I don't care, I have plenty of clothes and I'm going anyway. I'm pretty excited about this show, if for no other reason than I'll be among regular people tonight: You see, all tour I've had MASSIVE seats. Like 10th row. But I think I'm discovering that the people who sit there kinda suck. They seem to be rich folk, not, IMO, real true fans. Or perhaps they are true fans, but have been with the scene forever and are now somewhat jaded. I dunno, but my generosity and enthusiasm doesn't seem to be matched by may of them.

Oh well, tonight I'll be out there on the lawn with the droves of other people, and hand out everything I can. It'll be great, rain, cold, whatever.

POST SHOW: Super. Superb. Outstanding, as a matter of fact. I really liked that show... it was intense and way jammed out. They played an outstanding version of Piper which alone made it all worthwhile. It started out like a lot of the summer '00 pipers, sounding like it was going to climax in 30 seconds and go nowhere afterwards, but they extended it to an extreme degree- way jammed out and used as a base to launch into Lizards. Awesome.

And then for the encore... Possum!!!! Wow! It ripped!

In all, I loved this show. It was outstanding and I'm SO glad that I was here to see it.
