(Oct 2, 2000 2:27am - after the Phoenix show) As time goes on this tour, I'm
beginning to realize the gravity of what's coming
up. Not only is Phish taking an unprecedented 1-2 years off, but I'm entering a new career, settling into a new decade of living, and possibly even (sorry to get mushy for a sec, but it's late and certain moods can't be helped) loving.
In all, I think I'm going to be profoundly hit by the lack of Phish itself. I really don't think I'd be a person to flock 300 miles to see Trey or Fishman play somewhere solo (or with other acts), quite frankly, though their music is great, it's just notes. But the experience... the feeling of Phish is what's going to leave an empty spot in my soul til they return.
I wish them the best of luck with whatever it is they're trying to find.
PRE TOUR: I'm so excited about fall tour! Not only for the obvious fact that this is it for a long time, but also simply because they had much a massive summer tour. Like I mentioned in my summer 00 section, I was nervous that they were turning pop; losing their edge. But they were so huge, so massive, so intense that all those fears were quickly smashed. Summer was SO awesome and I absolutely cannot wait for fall's shows to start. I think they're gonna be monumental beyond belief.
See you there.
